“Blade Runner” Sequel: The Latest

Let’s face it: “Blade Runner” is one of the greatest movies of all time, and part of its charm come from how marvelous it looked in an age before CGI. The sequel will make full use of the tech toolbox and what do you bet it will feel the wrong kind of soulless? However it turns out, Ridley Scott now says he is no longer directing the long-gestating follow-up. Scott, 76, revealed the news in an interview to promote his biblical epic “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” which, frankly, I have no interest in. (When it comes to Moses, I’m monogamously addicted to Charlton Heston.) While “Blade Runner 2” is expected to move into production within the next year, Scott will now take a producer’s role.
