“Saul”: First Episode Better Than “Bad”

As a spin-off of “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul,” which premiered last night, had an even higher bar to clear than most television shows — it had to uphold a legacy. And if there’s one thing that’s hard to dispute about the show, it’s this: the first episode of “Better Call Saul” is more assured than “Breaking Bad”‘s, something that appears to be almost entirely due to the increased comfort and seasoning of the team. I look forward to future episodes.
