Exhibition: Women Photograph Women

“We live in a world where the internet cannot make a distinction between nudity and pornography,” photographer Amanda Charchian explained in an email exchange with The Huffington Post. “And for me that is a problem. I don’t find sacredness is secrecy where depravation and shame is involved.” Charchian is involved in a new show at New York’s Steven Kasher Gallery, titled “Pheromone Hotbox.” Along with four other emerging female photographers, Charchian sets her lens on women, depicting the intimate process of photographing “the female psyche.” It’s a show by women of women for women, nudity included.
