Barney Frank: Hampered Brilliance

Garry Wills has written a dead-accurate review of Barney Frank’s recent book, “Frank: A Life in Politics from the Great Society to Same-Sex Marriage.” The only one of Barney’s flaws left unexamined is his occasional rudeness to underlings, which has been common knowledge in Washington for years. Wills had me from his first sentence: ‘Barney Frank, who looks like Barney Rubble and talks like a speeded-up Will Rogers, was keeping something from us—not just, for a long time, his sex life, but his hidden formation as a professor.’
