“War And Peace”: The First Images
I have a sinking feeling about this project — maybe because this is hardly my dream cast. The BBC and The Weinstein Company have released images from their upcoming version of Tolstoy’s “War and Peace.” Lily (“Downton Abbey”) James (pictured) stars as Natasha. Then there’s Paul Dano as Pierre and James Norton as Andrei. The cast also includes Jim Broadbent as Prince Bolkonsky, Gillian Anderson as Anna Pavlovna, and Rebecca Front as Anna Mikhailovna. The series airs on the BBC this winter, followed by, what, PBS in America?
