Salcedo Awarded Major Art Prize

Colombian artist Doris Salcedo has been named the recipient of the inaugural Nasher Prize, a $100,000 award from the Dallas sculpture center given to “a living artist in recognition of a significant body of work that has had an extraordinary impact on the understanding of the art form.” Pictured is an ephemeral public project Salcedo did in 2002 with 280 wooden chairs at the Palace of Justice, Bogotá.
