Weezer Shares New Song

Weezer has shared a new song, “Thank God for Girls“. It’s the band’s first new release since last year’s “Everything Will Be Alright in the End.: Watch the insane (unofficial) video below. That’s the cover art above.
There is a lot happening in this video. A man sitting in front of a painting of Jesus is the recipient of a huge plate of canolis, which he proceeds to then eat and spill all over himself as a girl from the pastry shop helps him clean himself off– awkwardly. Later, he’s throwing them around and smearing canoli across his face, and it only gets weirder. The clip appears to be a psuedo-lyric video, with key words scrawled across the screen as the action unfolds. In this interview with Rivers Cuomo, the Weezer frontman, he talks about learning how to be a man from Cat Stevens and Kiss, being relieved that Kurt Cobain never got to hear Weezer, discovering Eminem at age 35, and his love/hate relationship with “Pinkerton.”
