Sean Penn’s humanitarian romance “The Last Face†is being savaged on Twitter after premiering at Cannes. Commenters are describing the film, which stars Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem, as the worst of the festival. Others are also quipping that the picture is so awful it destroyed Penn’s relationship with Theron. This is all dreadful news: Charlize and Javier are two of the most engaging people I’ve ever interviewed, and to see them stuffed in a turkey is painful.
