Jake Not Josh To Star In “Sunday In The Park”

Plenty of Josh Groban fans were hoping he’d make his Broadway debut in a Sondheim show. Instead, he’s doing “Natasha, Pierre…”, based on “War and Peace.” Meanwhile, another thick-haired dude has decided to take the Sondheim plunge in New York: Jake Gyllenhaal (pictured) has agreed to star in a one-night-only performance of “Sunday in the Park With George,” on Oct. 24, to raise money for New York City Center. Mr. Gyllenhaal, although best known as a film star, wowed musical theater fans last summer with his star turn in an Encores! Off-Center production of “Little Shop of Horrors” at City Center. The “Sunday” tickets won’t be cheap.
