OMG: A Shazam Tool For Fonts!

For all of us font queens, this is major. Wired reports: ‘For her graduation project at the Royal College of Art, Fiona O’Leary developed a handy, handheld tool she calls Spector that captures typefaces and colors in the real world, and then transfers them directly to InDesign.’ The downside: ‘Spector is a prototype. A working prototype, but a prototype, nonetheless. You can’t buy it, and while O’Leary is interested in commercializing it, she’s in no rush. There’s no whizbang Spector website or neatly manicured Kickstarter campaign; for now, it’s a smart, charming idea that creates an eminently practical bridge between physical and digital media.’
