The “Big Discovery” At Venice Fest?
That’s what the festival’s director, Alberto Barbera, says about “El Cristo Ciego” (The Blind Christ), directed by Chile’s Christopher Murray (right). The movie will debut at the Venice festival, which runs from August 31 to September 10. Set in the north of Chile, the movie begins with a villager, who, believing he is a Christ, sets out on a barefoot pilgrimage across the desert to perform his first miracle. Sounds very Pasolini to me.
