New Adaptation Slated For Le Carre Novel

AMC has teamed with BBC to produce a limited series adaptation of John le Carre’s famed novel “The Spy Who Came in From the Cold” with Ink Factory and Paramount Television. The deal marks a reunion for the team that produced “The Night Manager,” another le Carre adaptation shepherded by Ink Factory. “Slumdog Millionaire’s” Simon Beaufoy is on board to write the episodes. The novel is set in 1962 at the height of the Cold War. It revolves around the battle between a hard-drinking British intelligence officer and an East German counterintelligence operative. The novel was previously made into a 1965 feature film starring Richard Burton.
