Wince Philip: The Duke’s Rudest Insults

Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday that Prince Philip, aka The Duke of Edinburgh, is to retire from his public duties. Prince Philip, who is 95, will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year. That royal-loving rag The Telegraph compiles his insults through the years, commenting, ‘He has throughout his life added light-hearted and funny moments to sometimes otherwise dull occasions.’ That’s putting it mildly. Many of the Prince’s most famous remarks are racist or rude. To a driving instructor in Scotland, during a 1995 walkabout, he asked, “How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?” While visiting China, in 1986, the Prince stated, ‘“If it has got four legs and it is not a chair, if it has got two wings and it flies but is not an aeroplane, and if it swims and it is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it.”
