See This “Government” In-Spec-Tacular

Humor is plentiful in Red Bull Theater’s whizzy production of Nikolai Gogol’s 1836 play, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher. Sometimes, this Gogol is played for satire, but Red Bull plays it more for farce. The Marx Brothers-type antics can be a little exhausting, but the cast, led by the delightful Michael Urie, is highly skilled. The production’s bilevel set is clever, and Jesse Berger’s direction lively. Highly recommended.
