“Versace” Will Be Next American Crime
There’s been a minor twist in FX’s American Crime Story franchise: “The Assassination of Gianni Versace,” which was originally slated to be the third installment of the series, will now premiere in early 2018. This means that it will bump Katrina, which had been previously announced as the follow-up to last year’s phenomenon The People v. O.J. Simpson. Versace, which is currently in production, tells the story of the titular designer, played by Edgar Ramirez, and the serial killer, Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss), who gunned him down outside Versace’s mansion in Miami. Penelope Cruz (pictured) plays Versace’s sister, Donatella, and Ricky Martin is Versace’s long-term boyfriend, Antonio D’Amico.
