Your Weekend: A Selective Guide

Movies: Yes, the new “Blade Runner” movie is too long, and it takes forever for the Harrison Ford character to make his entrance but it is visually stunning and absolutely worth seeing in a theater. TV/Streaming: “The Royal House of Windsor” — a six-part documentary series — is now on Netflix. “Havana Time Machine” premieres Friday on PBS. Music: I’ve never seen an artist dominate the best-seller lists after dying than Tom Petty has this week. He was truly truly beloved. October is an especially lovely time to listen to Rosemary Clooney. Books: Margaret Atwood’s dystopian “The Handmaid’s Tale” has been a hugely popular this year, but my favorite of her novels is “The Blind Assassin,” which won the Booker Prize in 2001. Sports: The Yankees are never more exciting than when they have a blazing young star — and Aaron Judge fills the bill beautifully. Finally: What music will people be listening to in 50 years? Rihanna? Cole Porter? Yma Sumac?
