The “French Elvis” Dies At 74

I never understood the appeal of French rocker Johnny Hallyday, and my puzzlement helps explain why though he was huge in France he was never huge in the United States. His death, at 74, is being treated in Paris as if Elvis and Michael had just died on the same day. Ah, zee French, zey are different from zee rest of the world, n’est-ce pas?
