How The Phantom Threads Were Created

Of all the movies I saw during the holidays, “Phantom Thread” is the one that has stayed with me the most. I won’t say I enjoyed it thoroughly: the scenes between Daniel Day-Lewis and Vicky Krieps were punishing. But the lushness of the visuals and of the score were transfixing. As were the costumes created by Mark Bridges. Here, Bridges talks about the assignment of creating couture in the style of the early 1950s.
