Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: Thank God it’s the last of the “50 Shades” movies, though I’m not one of the mommies in its target audience. For the kids there’s “Peter Rabbit.” Streaming/TV: “Babylon Berlin” is set in the German capital during the 1920s, but there are a minimum of “Cabaret” cliches. Music: I must be suffering from winter cabin fever — I’m listening to the late cabaret chanteuse Hildegarde. Books: I finally read Dan Brown’s “Origin” — and I didn’t hate it. Timothy Steele is a marvelous poet — and a marvelous analyst of poetry. Sports: I’m still feeling the joy about the Eagles, so don’t ask me about the Winter Olympics. Finally: Don’t you just love military parades?
