Your Weekend: A Selective Guide

Movies: “Angel Has Fallen” is another bum use of Gerard Butler…”Vita and Virginia” has a strong cast, though Peter Ferdinando is way too hot to play Leonard Woolf. TV/Streaming: I finally caught up with the final season of “Orange is the New Black” on Netflix: the detainees storyline was spot-on, and the series still had a hole at its center: a primary (white) character who was whiny and annoying. Music: The new Taylor Swift (so far) doesn’t sound impressive, but I love the title of Slipknot’s new release: “We Are Not Your Kind.” Books: Eduardo Albinati’s novel “The Catholic School” is on my list, though it’s a real doorstop: 1280 pages. Sports: My best soccer-loving buddy is a Liverpool fan and I’m an Arsenal fan, so the teams’ matchup on Saturday may test our friendship. Finally: Please, summer, don’t go, don’t go!
