Rupert In “Virginia Woolf”

When I heard yesterday that Rupert Everett was replacing Eddie Izzard opposite Laurie Metcalf in the Broadway production of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” I thought: the only way I’m going is if Rupert plays Martha. I hold out little hope: the Albee estate is notoriously literal in the casting of the play. Albee always maintained that it’s about straight marriage and that if he wanted to write a gay play he’d write a gay play.
