Movies: Have fun at the relentless “Joker” saga! I’ll be watching Almodovar’s “Pain and Glory.” TV/Streaming: I’ve been hate-watching two shows: “Succession” on HBO and “The Politician” on Netflix…I don’t care for “Poldark,” so Sunday nights on PBS are a wasteland for me right now. Music: I’ve been having a week-long bingfest of Jessye Norman: not only the “Four Last Songs” but also selections from “Les Troyens” and “Les Dialogues des Carmelites.” Books: I don’t watch Rachel Maddow on TV, so why the hell would I read her “Blowout”? I am, however, reading Ann Patchett’s new novel, “The Dutch House” and it’s lovely. Sports: I’ve been watching some of the rugby world cup to distract myself from the fact that my favorite football team, Arsenal, keeps tying and not winning games. Finally: It’s October! Halloween pop-up stores everywhere!
