Your Weekend: A Selective Guide

Movies: I want to see the new “Terminator” as well as “Harriet,” which stars the fierce Cynthia Erivo. TV/Streaming: “The Morning Show,” which kicks off Apple’s streaming service, has gotten meh reviews…Remember when Ben Chaplin was young and fetching? On PBS’s “Press” (Sunday night) he’s older and plays an obnoxious media potentate. Music: T. Rex and Judas Priest are up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year: vote here and vote often! Books: I’ve been re-reading Barbara Tuchman’s “A Distant Mirror,” about 14th-century Europe, and being reminded why Tuchman is one of my favorite writers. Sports: This week was the best of times (Nats won World Series, 76ers are undefeated) and the worst of times (Liverpool beat Arsenal in penalty kicks). Finally: I dread the autumn time change: it gets dark so early.
