TV/Streaming: Now that the creatures great and small have disappeared from PBS’s Sunday night programming there will be nothing much to watch there until a new version of “Howard’s End” next month…Movies: The big news in NYC is that movie theaters will reopen next Friday at 25 percent occupancy. Will be interesting to see who heads back to the cinema right away — young people, I reckon…Books: I’m catching up with Margaret MacMillan’s eloquent book-length essay called “War.” It was a NY Times 10 best book in 2020…Music & Pop Culture and Movies and Television: The Golden Globes will be held this Sunday. Every year, they seem to mean less and less to the Oscar race but it will be a party of sorts so we shall see if everyone, led by hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, will behave themselves…Sports: Watching the Brooklyn Nets coalesce into a championship contender this season is a thing a beauty…Finally: Sunday brings the Golden Globes, bestowed by the HFPA, a group not known for its commitment to diversity.
