Your Weekend: A Selective Guide

Movies: Nothing worth seeing this weekend at the multiplex, so why not venture to YouTube and watch the 1936 Hollywood version of Cole Porter’s musical “Anything Goes”? The show just opened on the London stage to rave reviews…TV/Streaming: I not bingeing on the second season of “Ted Lasso,” the comedy about an American soccer coach who comes to England to lead a Premier League team. I prefer to savor the show: lots of laughs…Music: It’s great that Billie Eilish’s new album is called “Happier Than Ever” — though the title is partly ironic…Books: It’s August, so I’m re-reading some old favorites, including Willa Cather’s “Song of the Lark,” about an opera singer…Sports: I’ve watched almost none of the Olympics, but I’m almost sad to see them go
