Globes Honor “Dog,” “Story,” “Succession”

I find “The Power of the Dog” and “Succession” as dull as paint, but that doesn’t stop them from being showered with awards. Latest example: the Golden Globes, which amidst controversy bypassed its usual drunken ceremony last night in favor of a scaled-down announcement of winners, went to the “Dog” for several awards and the same for the HBO series “Succession.” The Globes are proof that the Oscar derby this year will be between “Dog,” and “West Side Story,” which also won major awards last night. With “Belfast,” which won best screenplay for Kenneth Branagh, also in the mix.
