Avedon 100 Exhibit Is Marvelous

Richard Avedon, with whom I worked at The New Yorker, once asked me if I had a favorite among his images. I said I had two: Auden in the Snow and Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). At Avedon 100, a marvelous exhibit at the Gagosian Gallery in New York to honor the photographer’s centenary, those photos are in proximity.
