A Year Ago He Was Waiting Tables
I’ve finally caught up with “Control,” the biopic about the Joy Division singer Ian Curtis. Even though I thought the film was a little too pleased with itself, I’m a sucker for saturated black-and-white movies, so of course I loved the look of the thing. And Sam Riley (pictured), who plays Curtis and who is interviewed here, is a wonderfully sharp-edged subject for the camera.
