P.S. To Yma Sumac Obituary

Earlier today, I posted my thoughts on the death of one-of-a-kind songstress Yma Sumac, who was 86. My friend Tom Steele points out that one of Yma’s close friends revealed that the singer had had memory trouble for the past 8 years or so, and had no recall of anything after the 1950s. In other words, she died thinking that Dwight Eisenhower was President. I suppose it could have been worse: she could have drawn her last breaths thinking that George W. “Gone Underground” Bush is President.
