Arts $$$: Europe Up, U.S. Down
Arts organizations throughout the U.S. are hurting. President-elect Obama and Congressional leaders have shown no signs of helping them out, even with a $750-billion-and-counting stimulus package. Meanwhile, both France and Germany see the arts as an essential part of their economic recoveries and are therefore increasing (!!!) their culture spending for 2009.
