Everybody’s Irish On St. Paddy’s
According to Ancestry.com, Barack Obama is 3.1% Irish. His great-great-great-grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, sailed aboard the Marmion from Liverpool on March 20, 1850, with the intention of settling in Ohio (I can’t figure out that part, either). Kearney’s roots can be traced back to the villages of Moneygall and Shinrone in County Offaly, Ireland.
