Ginsberg & Franco: How Similar?
Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are co-directing and co-writing “Howl,” a biopic about the obscenity trial that followed the 1957 publication of Allen Ginsberg’s poem “Howl.” Although I still have doubts about James Franco’s resemblance to the owlish and very Jewish bookworm-looking Real McCoy, I have to admit, based on these photos (Ginsberg, left; Franco, right), that there’s at least a slight likeness. But does it really go beyond the vintage glasses?
It is too ironic that the same person would portray both James Dean AND Allen Ginsberg!!
BTW… Portraying Both James Dean and Ginsberg in the same vintage glasses!?!
James Franco’s mother is Jewish.
