Picasso Pricey; Da Vinci More So

aaaapicasso13278764_41nThe art world is abuzz that last night, at Christie’s in New York, a 1932 Pablo Picasso painting of his mistress sold for $106.5 million, a world record price for any work of art at auction. “Nude, Green Leaves and Bust” (pictured), which had a pre-sale estimate of between $70 million and $90 million, was sold to an unidentified telephone bidder. Meanwhile, a tattered self-portrait by Leonardo da Vinci could be worth $290 million.
