Irish Author Wins Bad Sex Award
Apparently, there is a prize that Jonathan Franzen’s exhaustively praised novel, “Freedom,” didn’t win: the Bad Sex in Fiction Award. It was bestowed last night on an Irish author, Rowan Somerville, who penned the sentence: “Like a lepidopterist mounting a tough-skinned insect with a too blunt pin, he screwed himself into her.” Cue a Borat-ian: “Very nice.”
