Weiner: What’s Left To Say?
Now that he’s resigning, let’s restate the obvious: 1) As far as we know, he didn’t break any laws; 2) He has compulsiveness issues or a compulsiveness disorder that he needs to deal with; 3) He was a fool not to come clean right away, and a fool to keep lying about what he’d done; 4) He needs to attend to his marriage; 5) Are Republicans who screamed for his resignation going now to deal with the likes of their own Senator David Vitter (don’t hold your breath)?; 6) There’s no privacy left, so remember that the next time you send a picture of yourself to a stranger; and 7) People are sexual beings, and some Americans need to learn that this, as long as no minors or cheating is involved, is healthy.
