Don’t Mess With Miss Martha

Frank Bruni, the New York Times writer who recently made the transition from cuisine to commentary, took Occupy Wall Street celebrities to task. Martha Plimpton, who’s been acting for years and is currently on TV’s “Raising Hope,” fired off an eloquent letter to the Grey Lady. “Is Mr. Bruni suggesting that all artists and actors are inherently selfish dilettantes unable to distinguish between showboating and sincere advocacy?” Yeah, baby!

  1. Brava, Martha Plimpton, very well said. But really, what can one expect from the newly promoted Op-Ed columnist of the NY Times? Frank Bruni was their chief restaurant critic for years and (according to his memoir, “Born Round”) suffers from eating disorders! Seems to me that he shouldn’t be pointing fingers at anyone, as he, too “has challenges aplenty in the coherence department.”
