Leo’s Hoover: Unhandsome, Unheroic

The official debut of Clint Eastwood’s movie “J. Edgar,” with Leonardo DiCaprio playing longtime FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover, isn’t until tomorrow night, but The New York Times has apparently seen the movie. The paper says that the actor spends much of the movie “sweating and sneering” and that DiCaprio looks “unhandsome” and “unheroic.” As always, one has to admire DiCaprio’s choice of roles. Unlike many other major movie stars, he’s the real deal — an actor. But this movie doesn’t sound like the one for which DiCaprio will at last be rewarded with an Oscar.
