“Fashion Star”: Cliche Or Cutting-Edge?

Maybe because I went sour on “Project Runway” around the time it changed networks and have ever since been searching for a stylish reality show I could enjoy: whatever the reason, I’m looking forward to tonight’s premiere of “Fashion Star” (reviews here and here). Hosted by Elle Macpherson (pictured), the program boasts Jessica Simpson as a judge, and before you snarkily think “has-been,” let me inform you that Jessica’s fashion/accessories line is expected to generate around a billion dollars in sales this year. Meanwhile, she told Jay Leno last night that her favorite snack during pregnancy (she’s about to emit a baby) is something called Slut Brownies. Recipe, please?

5 Comments to ““Fashion Star”: Cliche Or Cutting-Edge?”

  1. I agree with you that everybody who criticizes Jessica Simpson doesn’t know what they’re talking about. She’s a good Christian girl — even though she’s knocked-up by someone she isn’t married to!

  2. At least on “Project Runway” the contestants have to show some actual skill.

  3. I can’t believe that the best men’s designer they could come up with as a judge is John Varvatos.

  4. It would have been better if they had gotten Lindsay Lohan as a judge.

  5. I’m surprised that you don’t like “Project Runway.” It’s a well-produced show with appealing people like Tim Gunn. I’d take him over Jessica Simpson any day.
