“The Great Gatsby”: The Reviews Pour In

It opens Friday. Variety’s Scott Foundas’s review says the movie is “like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as staged by Liberace.” THR’s Todd McCarthy is kinder: “A hugely elaborate, well cast adaptation of an American classic that will provoke every possible reaction.” A lot of the flick’s box office will be propelled by its all-star soundtrack. I have a feeling we’re going to be hearing Fergie’s track, “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” at pool parties all summer.
