Angela Is Made A Dame By Her Majesty

Yesterday, Angela Lansbury, 88, was made a Dame of the British Empire at Windsor Castle by Queen Elizabeth, almost 88. Why did Angela have to wait so long to get this award? Probably because, though British, she made her career in the United States and some Brits are snooty about that sort of thing. Angela is doing 8 shows a week in London, in “Blithe Spirit,” written by the Queen Mum’s chum Noel Coward, and Her Majesty still does her duty every day. No retirement for these women: hardcore stamina! I am touched by looking at the photo: each of these woman has seen so much. And Angie’s hat! The award from the Queen was a feather in Miss Lansbury’s cap so she appropriately put a real one in her own.
