“Forever”: My FT Review
The Financial Times has posted my review of “Forever,” at New York Theatre Workshop: ‘“America is my country, but Paris is my home town,†said Gertrude Stein. Of Dael Orlandersmith (pictured) — whose autobiographical one-woman show, “Forever,” has just opened off-Broadway — one might say: Harlem is her home town, but Paris is her country. Her visit to the French capital, specifically to the Père Lachaise Cemetery, frames this intense, poetic 85-minute evening.
