Catherine Coulson Dies
Catherine E. Coulson, actress and cult icon, died Monday morning of cancer at age 71, her rep confirmed to EW. Coulson rose to cultural prominence in the early ’90s, as the Log Lady on “Twin Peaks.” Her friend and recent colleague, Peter Frechette, wrote on Facebook: ‘She had as bright a light as you’ve ever seen and loved and was loved by a huge number of people…I can’t even begin to tell you about the many dazzling daffy brilliant things I saw her do on stage, including singing, dancing, acting and just generally crowd-pleasing earlier this year in “Guys and Dolls” [at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival] even as she was facing her challenges.’
