Daniel Day-Lewis Praises A Critic!
Daniel Day-Lewis is sui generis, so it doesn’t surprise me that he would show up at the funeral of a critic — Michael Dwyer, of the Irish Times — and deliver an eloquent tribute. Day-Lewis says Dwyer was “never cruel.” I wish I could feel as big-hearted when faced with a performance as wrong-headed as Day-Lewis’s in “Nine.” But I guess I’m no Michael Dwyer!
