Emmys: Who Got Nommed & Snubbed

Some of this morning‘s prime-time Emmy nominations went to the tried-and-true: “Mad Men” scored 17 nominations. Some went to first-rate newcomers: “Homeland” did well. But how “American Horror Story” scored 17 noms — as many as “Mad Men”! — is beyond me. The few times I’ve tried, really tried to watch “Horror” I’ve found it to be schlock: well-produced schlock, mind you, but schlock all the same. But I suppose you could say that “Downtown Abbey,” with multiple noms, is nothing but a high-class soap opera. As for who got snubbed in the noms, this is a good analysis. Soldier on, Madeleine Stowe!
