“On Your Feet!”: My FT Review
The Financial Times has posted my review of the new Broadway musical “On Your Feet!”. Bottom line: ‘When I panned “Mamma Mia!,” I lost a few friends. Maybe they’ll come back when I say that I found “On Your Feet!,” the story of the Cuban-American pop star Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio Estefan, to be irresistible. With the recent closing of the Abba-fest, Broadway has needed a high-octane evening to send audiences shuffling happily into the street — with the tunes pounding away in their heads the next day.’ Gloria is played by Ana Villafane (pictured).
